the longmoor project

Not afraid of colour or being different, this homeowner wanted a more open space, that blends modern decor with a family friendly style for the newly purchased 70’s era home.

Longmoor

In this 70’s era home, we opened up the wall between the old kitchen and dining room to improve spacial flow.

The homeowner wanted a modern kitchen, but with colour. Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy provides a grey blue base for the cabinetry. A traditional hexagon mosaic tile in mixed marble provides the pattern in the space. There was sufficient cabinets that open shelving was used in lieu of uppers. This further opens the space and provided a natural wood element, warming up the otherwise cool palate. The tile floors were replaced with hardwood floors that run throughout the space.

Architectural mouldings were added to the space to provide detail. White painted walls allow for the curated pieces to pop and stand for themselves.

Lastly the small master bedroom was opened to the outdoors with a large three sectioned patio door to a deck with seating to allow access to the back yard and hottub.
